Owner/designer Lori Mefford has been a baker and sugar artist for over 30 years. At a very young age, in the 70's!, Lori interned for two wonderful sugar artists in the southern California area. During this period Lori honed her skills in the art of butter cream cake decorating with an emphasis on flawless piping techniques and gourmet recipes. This provided a thorough foundation of cake construction and design knowledge.
Through the years Lori has continued to build upon her knowledge and skill in the various sugar arts. Years of living abroad introduced her to the use of marzipan and fondant. She has also studied the art of gum-paste flowers with world-renowned Sugar Artist Nicholas Lodge.
Lori's cakes are recognized for incredible attention to detail, lifelike gum-paste sugar flowers and figures, and flawless finishes.
